What does it really mean to be a Jew? (Numero dos)

Or I should rather say ‘what does it really mean to be an Israelite’?  I think many people including Jews themselves have become embroiled in the division of ‘Jew and Gentile’.  After searching on the internet for UK messianic congregations, I noticed that many of them seemed to have a ‘Jews only’ mentality ie. with Jews being anyone of Blood Jewish heritage.

My major problem with this is again it perpetuates the division between Jew and Gentile, if you look at my earlier post on the same topic we can see that Jews make up a small proportion of the Kingdom of Israel.  The other Israelites were scattered due to their disobedience to YHVH.  No one knows who the ‘Lost sheep of Israel’ apart from YAH.  But the Kingdom of Israel (God’s Kingdom is for all of Israel not just Judah (Jews)).

Likewise, it is wrong for non-Jewish believers to look down on their Jewish brothers and sisters because they are our only historical and cultural tie to the ancient ways of following YHVH.  I know that in around AD70 when the Jewish people were thrown out of Jerusalem, many Gentile believers felt that this meant that YHVH had abandoned Judah, this is not true.  Our pride can cause us to be cut off from the root which is the Messiah!  Many people struggle to link themselves into Israel by claiming blood heritage (Hebrew Yisraelites and Anglo-Israel/Jewish movements).  I personally, think that if the only claim you have to the Kingdom of God is your true or desired blood heritage you need to be very careful.  As John ‘the Baptist’ said YHVH us more than able to raise children of Abraham from rocks!  It takes more than blood to enter into the Kingdom of God.

The truth is that anyone who believes and confesses with their mouth  that the Messiah is YHVH, who came as flesh and died for us at crucifixion is saved.  This fact should act as a glue that brings Believing Jews and Gentiles together to form ‘Israel’ and not bring about distinct and separate communities.  After all as Paul said there is only one God who we worship and one truth which we should follow.  if the church is splintered then the next question we should ask is whose truth is the truth?

Prophetic Dreams

I have always been a dreamer, in fact I used to say that my dreams could rival Stephen King, they were soooooooo wierd!  But ever since I became born again these type of dreams became less and less.  A few times I had revelational dreams from YAH and 1 or 2 conversations with Him whilst asleep!  In the last few weeks particularly, a lot of prophecy has been opened up for me within the scriptures and within my dreams particularly in relation to my family.  I want to share one dream with you as I believe it has significance for all believers in the Messiah, and since YAH has given me this message at least twice in slumber it must be important.  Please read through to the end.

My dream

I had a dream about the earth being invaded and taking over by aliens.  At first the aliens seemed friendly but I felt that something was not right about them.  Many people were drawn in by their deeds and followed and obeyed them willingly, but slowly they began to inflict slavery and bondage over the people of the earth.  There were groups of people who began to break away and hide out of distrust.  The aliens started to round-up people and take them into their spaceships to be put to death.  Inside of the spaceship, there was a large room which contained a great lake which they threw the people of earth into to kill them.  In the lake were carnivorous creatures which were loosed to destroy anybody who was pushed into the lake.

It transpired that I was rounded up to be thrown into the lake, but a commandment was given that anyone who keeps the sabbath would not be thrown into the lake.  And evidence was sought to verify this as many people claimed to keep the sabbath to keep their life.

Maybe, you will be able to see the meaning of this dream but if not this prophecy was made clear to me this morning after another dream about a member of my family.

Aliens represent the demonic spirits whose habitation is their earth, you will find many cults and sects including scientologists who worship aliens, what they are actually worshipping are the demons who were sent to dwell on earth.  In the dream, many people supported and followed the aliens, they were lulled into the prospect of a better more luxurious life full of fantastic alien technology etc.  This represents the many people who take the ‘mark’ of the beast or the kingdom of darkness.  Many things we take for granted much of our scientific and natural knowledge is the result of demonic influence that occurred when Hasatan tempted Eve (the books of Genesis and Enoch).  Our lifestyle choices indicate whether we accept the values of the kingdom of darkness or not.

The spaceship with the lake represents the lake of fire which has been especially reserved for the demons and their followers.  It may seem strange that the spaceship belonged to the aliens and that they were killing humans but actually it is not.  The spaceship belongs to the aliens/demons as the lake of fire has been especially created for them since the beginning of time.  Out of hatred they deceived the sons of men, only in order to kill their souls in the lake of fire.

A commandment was given not to kill those who kept the sabbath law, I never saw the person who gave this commandment it seemed to be a decree that came from on high which the aliens/demons were incapable of disobeying.  The proof sought here were the books we read about in Daniel and Revelations, which hold an account of our ‘works’.  It is by the records in this book, people were either allowed to be thrown into the lake of fire or not.

This dream is another revelation of the importance of YHVH’s  sabbath.

The mercy and grace of the Lord (YHVH)

Today I want to talk about Yah’s grace and mercy because many “Christians” somehow believe that the God of the New Testament is somehow different to Elohim in the Old Testament.  And that grace as a concept did not exist until the death of Yahushuah (Jesus) on Calvary.

That idea is a false teaching and one that has perpetuated the gulf that exists between “Christians” and “Believers” today to such extent that Christians ask questions such as “Did/will people in the OT go to heaven?”!!!  This shows a lack of understanding of the concept of grace and the vastness of Elohim.

What is grace?

2.(Theol.) The divine favor toward man; the mercy of God, as distinguished from His justice; also, any benefits His mercy imparts; divine love or pardon; a state of acceptance with God; enjoyment of the divine favor.

*And if by grace, then is it no more of works. – Rom. xi. 6.

*My grace is sufficient for thee. – 2 Cor. xii. 9.

*Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. – Rom. v. 20.

*By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand.               – Rom. v.2

Definition from Webster’s Online Dictionary

What is mercy?

Forbearance to inflict harm under circumstances of provocation, when one has the power to inflict it; compassionate treatment of an offender or adversary; clemency.

From the same Dictionary

Now we have established what the terms “grace” and “mercy” mean, I want to look at an outstanding example of both grace and mercy in the OT.  Of course, there are many examples of these concepts shown but I would like to focus on one example in particular.

David and Bathsheba (2 Sam chapters 11-12)

Although many people have written about this historical event, I would like to focus on the spiritual aspect.  As the foreshadow of the messiah to come, King David was a messiah “anointed” (not the Messiah) of God and the scriptures tell us that at his first anointing that the Spirit of Yah came upon him in power.  We know that this spirit manifested itself in at least 2 ways in David’s life:

-As a prophetic gift as seen within the psalms

-As a gift of spiritual wisdom and revelation (2 Sam 14:20)

So it is interesting to hear what David says concerning the man who has stolen his neighbour’s sheep.

5 And David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:

6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.

For those of you who like myself felt that this judgement was hard, it was harsh and very unlike the character of the King as we know that he more disposed to leniency e.g.  towards his son Absalom when he murdered his half brother.  Yah says this about theft:

King James Bible Ex 22:1
If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep

No where does it say that such a man is deserving of the death penalty, and King David being one that was ‘a man after Yah’s heart’ (1 Sam 13:13) and who meditated on the law ‘day and night’ (Ps 1:2 & 119:97) to such an extent that he became more knowledgeable in the Law than his teachers (Ps 119:99) would have surely known this.  Nevertheless, the ‘beloved’ of Elohim still sentenced the thief harshly, why?

Lev 20:10 gives us the answer, according to God’s law anyone who commits adultery with a married woman both he and the woman shall be sentenced to death.  On top of this, the King had sent an innocent man to death (Uriah) another sin worthy of death. So although, physically David did not know that Nathan was referring to him, this truth had been revealed through Yah’s spirit which resided with him.

What happened next?

Well, we know that David did not die; surely this is a great example of mercy and grace.  We see that even the most learned man, anointed with the Holy Spirit a very foreshadow of our messiah, a man who meditated on the word of Yah day and night fell under the weight of sinful flesh.  His crime was deserving of death twice over yet Yah spared him, why?  Because Yah, knew what was in David’s heart.  He judged him by his faith and love for Him and as such was lenient on him at the time of his judgement.

We know through the scriptures that people were put to death for disobeying God’s law, because their hearts were impure before Yah.  Or if any who were innocent were/are put to death the word tells us that they will be resurrected and not die again at the time of the 2nd death.

The New Testament tells us that our forefathers in faith will enter into the Kingdom of God.  We will see Moses, Elijah, Samuel, Nathan, David, Abraham and all our other brothers and sisters who were and are “Believers”.

A major mistake that Christians make is that these same people are not saved by God’s grace; of course they are because all of them fell to sin.  The difference is that no sin is imputed on them, because even they are washed clean.  Do we not see in the oracles of Balaam that Yah says He sees no wickedness or iniquity in Israel (Num 23:21) and that He pardons the sins of the righteous and those who long for His righteousness?

Lastly, for those who are confused as to how these sins can be washed away without the blood of the messiah the scriptures clearly say that the lamb was slain from the foundations of the earth/creation/world (Rev 13:8) and that the sacrifice is made for ALL time (Heb 10:12). Therefore it is completely WRONG, for people to say that our brothers and sisters in the “OT” will not be with Elohim, even these people who Christians believe were “under the law” are saved by faith.  Yes, faith because they looked forward to and believed in the coming of the messiah.   It is also WRONG, for secularised Christians to say that Believers who try to follow the commandments of Yah will also not enter His Kingdom.  If anything the scriptures, including Yahushuah (Jesus) taught otherwise.  Anybody who loved and loves Yah(ushuah) with all their heart, mind, body and soul and tries to obey His will and commandments before their own WILL enter into the Kingdom of God.
